Rm68 is situated in the 798 Art Zone, Beijing, China, and is co-founded by Sherry Lai (Partner of SPURS Gallery) and Kyle Zhang (Founder of Gallery Sohe).
Established in 2019, the space is the first contemporary design gallery in China. Its aim is to provide an unique experience for the public to communicate, share and explore high-level contemporary designers and artists both domestically and globally.
“68” originates from the decomposition of the 48 square meters of the space; combining contemporary art, modernism furnitures and contemporary design furniture. In the space, each design object can be viewed alone. Yet, when combined with other artworks or pieces, it will voice new dialogues cohesively.

May you live in interesting times. Somehow or other, Americans have the idea that this is an ancient Chinese curse. This isn’t true (the saying was probably invented back in the nineteenth century, by an Englishman), but it’s still a provocative idea. The implication is that we would want to live in times that are boring. That “interesting” history always involves great suffering. 2020 is a case in point. It has been a year like no other – for many of us, a time we’d prefer to forget.
ROOM 6×8 is honored to present Danful Yang ’s solo exhibition “Packing Me Softly” on September 5th , displaying her serial work of the same name that she has newly created in 2020. Danful Yang will lay her works out in a designated space of 48 square meters in order to further promote the conceptual completeness of the series.
Room 6x8 is proud to present its first exhibition of 2020, Yaolin Wonderland, on May 21. This also marks artist Zhou Yilun’s latest launch for his independent design brand R3PM3. Unlike a conventional exhibition, this solo show features Zhou as a supplier of furniture products, which he has selected to present within this six by eight square meter space in a demonstration of his reflections on the functionality of art and his use of cutting-edge technical materials. This is also Room 6x8's first exhibition to focus on an artist’s “sidestream creations.”
The opening exhibition, co-created by SPURS Gallery and Gallery Sohe, featured artists Andre Butz, Austin Lee, Jack McConnell, Jonathan Jones, Augustus Nazaro, Works by Yang Bodu, Zhou Yilun, and designers Pierre Jeanneret, Jean Prouvé.
